That's right, Global Dimming. That's what Nature is calling the supposed phenomenon -- which apparently no one knew about until they discovered that it was decreasing.
Clarice Feldman points out Nature's ludicrous piece which groans with the strain of speaking through hypocrisy so thick you could cut it with a knife. Their contention? Clean air is contributing to global warming.
Yup, clean air.
It seems that our air has been getting steadily cleaner over "the past decade or two" (that's apparently a scientific measurement of time) and the extreme lack of pollution is causing an increase in global warming. "It is clear," they say (though I think they must be using a different definition of the word "clear" than I'm used to), "that the greenhouse effect has been partly masked in the past by air pollution."
Are you following this? This is diametrically opposed to their usual line of misinformation. They're saying that the greenhouse effect was being masked by, not caused by, air pollution. It seems they want to have their cake, and eat it, too.
If it weren't for the mental agility required for such self-deluding, contortionist hypocrisy, I'd say Global Dimming was a good name for it. I'm just not sure how global it is.
It's short and it's got to be read to be believed.
