If the election is as big a rout as the mainstream media is predicting, people who rely on the media for their information are in for a rude awakening. It will begin slowly—after the glow of victory wears off. You see, the Democrats have begun to believe their own press. The radical leftist platform planks that they used to attract, and then to placate, the left wing of their party have worked all too well. The Party's activists are now all leftists. The leadership, chosen naturally enough from the party activists, are nearly all leftists. But the mainstream of the Party, the people who make up the majority of the Democrat Party, are not leftists. They are left of center to be sure, but they are much more centrist than their leadership.
Their leaders know this, and they have lied to their own members every step of the way. Democrat leadership knows that they could never be elected if the rank and file of their own party knew their true agenda. So they hide it. Which is why "Joe the Plumber's" insignificant question sparked such an effort to discredit him. He threatened to pull back the sheep skin from off the socialist wolf that is their true self.
With a Democrat controlled House and Senate, and a Democrat President, the majority party won't hesitate for a moment to begin implementing the policies that they have, through great effort, convinced themselves is right. They will raise taxes, despite transparent protestation to the contrary. They will repeal the Bush tax cuts, thus raising taxes again. They will renege on their promises, meager though they be, to drill for oil. They will do all of the things that they have said they will not do, and some of the things they have said they will.
And who will stop them?
Now is when buyers remorse will set in. Buyers remorse is how you feel when you buy something you want very badly, but can't truly afford. You get it home and the truth sets in. It was way too expensive. It is going to throw off your budget, perhaps for months. You should return it to the store.
But it's pretty hard to return an administration. You should have read the manual. Checked the specs. Taken it for a trial run. But how do you do that when the media is so corrupt that even Democrats admit it?
Here's how.
Ed Morrissey, Mary Kathrine Ham and Guy Benson have teamed up and put together The comprehensive argument against Barack Obama. It is huge, so I won't even try to excerpt it. It is even handed. No smears. No rumors. Whenever possible it has Senator Obama condemn himself with his own words, in video clips. It is very well done, and very revealing.
If you only read one thing today, The comprehensive argument against Barack Obama should be it. Share it with your friends.
Before it's too late.
